It is very important to have thoughts about college, college plans and mainly what you are wanting to go to college for. Being a Junior in high school and hearing all the talk about college already from Seniors and teachers is really frightening. When I had first gotten into high school I felt I had time to do my planning and thinking. Although, I caught myself procrastinating all this time, as I blink im wondering where all that time went for planning. So for some advice that many have already said.. start thinking about college as soon as you get into high school. Time sure does fly. Take an extra step and give yourself the time you need to prepare for college.
Changes in our Interventions… January 13, 2010
We have undergone many changes throughout the year. Our new administration is very willing to do anything possible to help improve the education of our students. We have recently changed the way our interventions are working compared to the way we were going about it first semester. When we started this at the beginning of the year it was determined from our previous test scores to show where we needed to be placed. Such as, if we were low in a certain subject we would go and work on that subject with a teacher and other students who were having difficulties with that subject in school as well. Although, having finding out that it did not work out as well as planned, administration had made more changes after coming back from Christmas break. We are now organized into class activities for the most part. The Freshman and Sophomore class are still doing what we call “flooding” which is what I explained above. Juniors are doing A.C.T. Prep organizations with different teachers and each subject throughout the week. The Senior class is doing a Senior Seminar organization, getting support from staff and highschool teachers for scholarships and college preparation.
